Room Project - group project
I was in charge of room1-Womb. The project was Inspired by the introduction course of female creators throughout the understanding of feminism, we learned that from the feminine writing of “A Room of One's Own” by Virginia Woolf to the collective work “Womanhouse” of female art course performed by Judy Chicago back in the 60’s, then to the “Red Room” by Louise Bourgeois, women are mentioned and emphasized from time to time and one could fantasize a room through memory reappearance and corresponding of the two themes. From the above mentioned ones along with the additional “Half Room” by Yoko Ono and “Hon” by Niki etc…,we constantly see that the female artists discussed quite differently about the directivity of view points. What we want to do is to gather all the information while continuously understanding about what does a room mean to us? It is like a geographic inter-wound existence, finally we define that a room is our memories, the reappearance of return to the womb
A room is like a feminine existence, “Mother’s Womb” is the first room for everyone. It is the room, in which we are unable to return to since we left. It is the initial creation of body and life. Then, we live at “home”, where we read, we cry and grow up. We start to form our memories as we find places we could reach and the environment we live in. We start to have life experiences and through the accumulated experiences, we start our first time to“Live by ourselves away from home”. It is an experience of change. We start to decide what to bring with us, what are convenient to carry, and what are useful. We use the learnt knowledge to live “in all other rooms afterwards”, which is definitely an irreversible development, an extended line from the beginning to the end. The rooms become different existence but a bound relationship with mother.

MIGRATE, COLLIDE, GROPE
Entering the beginning of memory
We take our past experiences and memories to start the journey. At first, we will see only a entrance and hear the low-frequency vibration similar to heartbeat. Then, we will go to a room with an unstable floor and change constantly, which implies an experience where we go through ups and downs in life.

Room3
The first time we possess our own room after moving out from home.
Everything in the room is deformed, magnified and it only has a half part. And the other half was showed in the room2. It expresses that people feel uncompleted and lonely when they leave from home, and this feeling is established on the connection with family.
Live Performance
Performers will interact with the glowing objects with little dots. The glowing objects symbolize the necessities in our life, and we select what we really need to carry them away from home.

Room2
The first room in one’s life - Home
The dinning table is a core which we define an image of home and family. We chatted and shared things when we ate dinner together with our family members, it is all about memory.
